Luis’ project

Luis was student of the PhD program in Applied Sciences. He made the project ‘Design, multicomponent synthesis and biological evaluation of new peptide-mimetic derivatives against the active site of each domain of angiotensin-converting enzyme I’. In this project he designed novel compounds (under a scheme of multicomponent Ugi reactions) by using the structural information of the binding sites of N domain and C domain angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE). He synthesized these compounds in the lab, and he determined their activities. His purpose was the discovery of selective ACE inhibitors.
